Vintage Hand Painted Japanese Fine Porcelain Tea Set for 4, Geishas, Lake ScenesVintage 1940s Japanese porcelain tea set comprising teapot, milk jug, sugar bowl, finger rinsing bowl and four trios of teacup, saucer and plate.  Hand painted with geishas, lake scenes and gilt flowers, all backstamped with the mark of the Suzuki Company.The set is now around 80 years old and made of fine porcelain so has some tiny contact wear nicks around most of the underside centre rims on the trios, fine, faint hairlines visible on the underside of the lidded sugar bowl and one saucer, and light rubbing here and there to the pattern.  There is also a tiny chip to the rim of one cup as shown.  These small imperfections are all as expected with age and use, part and parcel of the history and character of the set.The teapot measures 18.5cm (7.25ins) tall at the top of the finial.  The teacups are 5.3cm (2.1ins) tall and 10cm (3.95ins) diameter.Carefully packed for shipping, using recycled materials whenever possible.  Shipping prices are for Royal Mail's tracked and insured service, which provides peace of mind for buyers and minimises the possibility of delays or loss in transit.  The delivery date given by eBay is an estimate, based on optimal transit timesWe're pleased to offer combined postage, so just drop us a note if you're interested in more than one item and we'll happily adjust the cost of postage for you.Our vintage items are, by their very nature, sold in pre-owned used condition.
