A stylish and practical wardrobe dating from the 1930/40’s period.

This is extremely well made by British manufacturer Compactom Ltd, model DN.

It has the following features:

Inside there is hanging for trousers, 3 labelled drawers (one is glass fronted, one with label missing), and labelled shelves, unique radial hanging rack for coat hangers and ties, a mirror and space in the base for shoes bags etc. The lock works and there is one key. Of course, it could be used as a women’s wardrobe too.

The outside has been professionally refinished giving a wonderfully smooth feel and appearance to the wood, probably walnut or mahogany. The inside veneers have created an interesting chequerboard effect giving added interest. It has occasional marks commensurate with age.

This does not have a musty smell, which can be the case with some old wardrobes!
