Solid BRASS Lantern & Original VICTORIAN GAS Cast Iron Lamp Post.This Lantern we made (Cox Engineering and Town & Country Lighting) Our history is a lighting manufacturing company, manufacturing hand made lighting products mostly for the commercial market with clients like Warwickshire County Council, Royal Shakespeare Company, Wetherspoon Pub Chain and private clients, stately homes, housing developments, Churches and Hotels.THIS IS NOT A CHEAP BADLY MADE CHINESE IMPORT........Everything is made to a very high specification.The lantern is hand made from solid Brass sheeting, and is hand soldered in the traditional way. All the fasteners are solid brass or stainless steel.The reflector is solid stainless steel, to reflect the light in a downward direction. The lamp holder is solid brass.The glass is a Hand Made clear Reamy Slab  glass, very authentic obscure patterns in the glass.The lantern carries the CE mark, and is pre-wired with a long flex.The height of the lantern is 1100mm/43 inches.The lantern width is 21 inches/530mmThe Post height is 137 inches/3480mmThe width of the crossbar is 33 inches/830mmTotal height is 4580mm/180 inches (15feet) It is a Hexagonal 6  sided lantern.The width of the lantern at it's widest point is 21 inches/530mmThe lamp holder is a BC fitting (Bayonet Cap)You can also fit low energy lamps in this lantern.I manufactured many of these for Warwickshire County Council, and can be found in Stratford  outside the RSC, all along Waterside and Chapel Lane, Alcester,  Kenilworth,Warwick,  and many other villages.The lamp posts all came from the streets of Straford Upon Avon and Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire..I purchased these from my client, Warwickshire County Council for my own driveway in about2004, but did not use due to house sale in 2014.In 2011 I was responsible for the revamp of all the street lighting outside the Royal ShakespeareTheatre in Straford Upon Avon, and moving some lighting into the RSC Gardens.  Some of theseposts came from this location, so have a long history from over 150 years, exact age is unknown.There are also over 25 of these lanterns in Stratford Upon Avon areound the RSC Theatre along Waterside, Southern Lane and Chapel Lane and up to Trinity Church.The posts are Original Cast Iron Gas Lamp Posts from the Victorian era, they are not copies orpattern.There are still many of these beautiful original posts around Leamington and Stratford on Avon.The posts are very ornate and are beautiful castings, I have refurbished the ones in Stratford outside the RSC Theatre, and all of these will restore quite easily, and can be repainted.All of the posts are fluted along the lengh, with an ornate design all over, and on the cross bars.This lantern is the correct size and proportion for this lamp post.The Lanerns I made this  for exhibition work, so it has been used for demonstration purposes only.The finish is polished Brass, and stove lacquered finish, the weather will take over in time.We are selling this at 30% of the original cost as it is a sample.I only have TWO BRASS lanterns with 6 sides, and no more can be manufactured.The 2 brass lanterns are all identical, so can be used in a lighting scheme or on the same development/driveway/Patio etc.(I Also have ONE COPPER Lantern) See other advert on my other items.Any questions please call me 01789 764349This post will have to be collected from Feckenham, Worcs  post code B97 5PR.This will NOT go on a roof rack due to weight.......it will need to go on a trailor and we can load at our end easily.Collection can be 7 days a week by arangement.Viewing can also be by arangement 7 days a week.Lanterns are made to fit the cast iron posts.There is a choice of 3 posts which are all identical, all the same design and lengh.The price is for One Post and One BRASS Lantern in the picture.We may be able to deliver locally by arrangement.Please see my other lanterns for sale.Thank you for lookingNO PAYPAL.....ONLY Bank Transfer or Cash on Collection please.....
