A fabulous 19c French 4 glass clock dating to c1890 in wonderful original condition. The 8 day movement striking the half and full hours on a gong and in excellent working order. The back plate is stamped for "S. Marti" a well known Paris maker and interestingly retailed by " J E Caldwell & Co Philadelphia" which is quite rare. All bevelled glass is perfect and silvered dial with Arabic numerals. Lovely Corinthian capitals with reeded columns and raised beadwork which give it a very classy finish. Standing 11 inches high[28cm] x 6.5 ins wide[17cm] x 5 ins deep[13cm]. Comes with original pendulum and a winding key. A fine quality clock by a well respected maker with an interesting retailer.
