Small Antique Petit Point Needlepoint Floral Footstool - Mahogany Frame - Silk

This is sweet little footstool that has a very finely stitched cover of roses in lots of pastel colours on a pale green background. The thread of the central panel from experience appears to be silk, the decorative sides of the cover are a variegated green thread that has a glitter running through it. The cover is finished with a pale green braid.The upholstery work appears to be original and when I press it I can feel the horse hair inside. The cover although old, may not be original, and there could be an older cover underneath..The wood of the frame looks to be mahogany that has a very dark coat of varnish that is almost black, but where it is worn away the wood is an orangey red colour.It measures approximately 24cm square and is 15cm tall.Please be aware that this item does have signs of wear and tear and the cover is slightly dirty, please see the photos.If you need any further information or photos, please ask.
