science cupboard
2 wooden science cabinets. These 2 cabinets were salvaged from the science prep room at Blackheath Bluecoats secondary school in SE London when the school was demolished in 2018. They were too good to be skipped. The design is far superior to modern chipboard or MDF cabinetry. I'm no wood expert,but i think they are made from mahogany. The runners and catches on the doors are wonderful, so simple but effective. One of the cabinets only has one door. With some sanding and a couple of coats of varnish or paint, they would look fantastic in a retro kitchen or art studio. Structurally there is nothing wrong with them. And they are 40 years old! Because of their size, these would have to be collection only.
