A modern Head unit has been fitted and i cant seem to find the original Radio. I will keep looking! Interior wise. The dash is Uncracked the seats are near perfect and the contrasting orange carpet good.
The time has come for me to give somebody else the chance to own this piece of rare Rover History..The Car in question is a Very early Rover SD1 Registered on the 1st September 1976 Chassis No. 003465 Still sporting very early features such as single strap Parcel shelf..This car is an amazing survivor and has never been restored... It has had bits of Paintwork here and there over the years and a very small amount of welding.. (rear of sills)The Car is still amazingly solid.. The underside has never been touched.. There are odd bits of surface rust in various places where the paint has flaked and the front edge of the front wings need some work.. I personally don't think it warrants replacing the whole wings (and losing the originality..) but possibly just letting in this lower section..Doors are all solid etc..If i was to keep the car i would let in new sections on the front wings ang give it a complete respray..(The paint has Flaked and micro Blistered all over.)Very Reluctant sale due to loss of storage.. The Car had been in Dry Storage for 2 years... and after re-Connecting the Battery (Was still charged!!) Started right up and drove out the Unit and then home!Mechanically the car is spot on The engine purrs like a kitten. The BW65 auto box behaves as it should and still really shifts when kicked down..Since getting the car out of storage a couple weeks ago i have been using it and have done a couple of hundred of miles with no issues... even keeping cool in a traffic jam in the 40 Degree heat a few weeks Back! The Brakes were rebuilt before it was put in storage along with new Front struts from Rimmers..Interior wise... The dash is Uncracked the seats are near perfect and the contrasting orange carpet good.. The Headlining has gone a bit Saggy as you would expect..A modern Head unit has been fitted and i cant seem to find the original Radio.. I will keep looking! The car is registered as a Historic Vehicle and Thus Tax/Mot Exempt.. Car is Located in Warwick
