A Beautiful Regency period Davenport desk in rich mahogany with blackened frame and walnut panels. A side door opens to expose four hidden mahogany drawers within the frame enclosure. The blackened frame has aged gold linework with brass maidens (possibly mermaids) to the corners. The top doors open to a storage space. To the front a writing desk slides open via a pair of ornate brass handles to reveal a writing slope, pen holder and original ink wells.Structurally sound, this item would benefit from some cosmetic restoration. It has some lifting of the walnut veneer, a few minor scuffs to the blackened frame and a broken brass pull to the writing slope. there are no keys with this item.H: 41"W: 22"D: 21"Circa: 1820
