Ray And Miles Mahogany and Line Inlaid Wardrobe

Very attractive Mahogany and Line Inlaid Wardrobe, lovely patina. Simple line inlay, quartered panelling on left and right

Made by Ray and Miles, Liverpool - renowned cabinet makers, 1864 - 1959. (They were then taken over by Maples). So, the piece pre-dates 1959 but I don't have enough knowledge to state it is an antique...

Removable cornice - 8 cms high

Bevelled oval mirror.

Height: 188 cms Inc cornice

Width: 122 cms, including mouldings

Depth: 76.5 cms, including mouldings

One large drawer at bottom - internal measurements: 104 cms wide / 37.5 cms deep / 20 cms high.

Two internal drawers - internal drawer measurements: 45.5 cms wide / 26 cms deep / 13.5 cms high.

Hanging rail to internal base: 98 cms

Internal width: 119 cms

Internal depth: 39.5 cms

Does break above bottom drawer.

The internal base has two 'secret' compartments either side of the internal drawers - perfect for storing your gold bullion bars...

There is a brass hanging rail but also currently two shelves - not original - but have always been there - 1970s onwards. Used more as a linen press in my lifetime. (Parents inherited piece from neighbour in 1980s).

Some wear commensurate with age, one more significant dent on side - see photo. (Aim to replace with better shot!)
