For sale is this authentic pre-Columbian clay anthropomorphic effigy head fragment! This piece is hand made out of a clay pottery in the rough image of an human face/head. It was likely once larger, but is currently just the head of the figure. It is made of a clay, and is simplistic in design. It is estimated to be from about 1200 AD (give or take 200 years as a margin of error — with lacking more detail/design it is difficult to be very exact). It is guaranteed authentic, and has firm provenance as mentioned. I purchased this in a lot of about 6-10 pieces, and will be splitting them up to sell them (individually so they can be a part of many collections). I purchased it from a private US based collection of ancient and medieval aged artifacts from Mesoamerica. The previous collector has a extensive collection of similar items, and is extremely knowledgeable on pieces from this age and origin. I purchased it from his collection during liquidation of portions of it. It would make a great teaching tool, gift, display piece, or addition to any collection! Don’t pass it up!
