Rare early 1960s Meredew maple veneer double bedhead with drawers and shelves

This unusual maple veneer double bed headboard was made by Meredew Ltd at its Letchworth factory, in Hertfordshire, at the very end of the 50’s, early 60’s. The headboard is for a double bed and is made as a single maple-veneered unit with an integrated bedside drawer, flat surface and a triangular glass shelf on each side The headboard and drawers are veneered in high gloss pale Maple and it has the original metal handles.The two drawers (one each side of the bed) run smoothly, and and the interiors are also clean. It is in good condition for its 63 years of age, showing signs of use and age.Please view photographs for condition; There are a couple of chips to some of the maple veneer, please look carefully at the pictures. The handles are original and show age-appropriate use and age.  All this is reflected in the price. It's a lovely piece of furniture of the 1950s and 60s period.Dimensions:Overall width: 215cm; distance between bedside tables is 143cm and the height of the bedside tables is 53cm. There is also a matching and rare Meredew two drawer-two door dressing table / sideboard.
