Old Antique Colonial Indian Linen Press Armoire Wardrobe Secret Compartment.

This is a fabulous piece of furniture and I am parting with it heavy hearted as I am moving abroad.

The condition is good and structurally the wardrobe is solid but there are many signs of use, age and time. To me everything just adds to the overall beauty of this piece.

The wardrobe is darkly varnished. The left side of the wardrobe has dark patches, which is the way the varnish was applied (see photo). Decorative pale wood beading is running along the wardrobe exterior and panels. Some shows signs of damage.

The wardrobe comes apart in two pieces. The base section on which the wardrobe rests and one solid top section with the two mirrored doors.

The mirrors are clear and have a wide bevel. One small scratch on left mirror.

The item has lockable doors which come with one original key.

The interior is rustic in style and spacious for your clothing or items. It is fitted with thick fixed shelves and two small draws at the bottom. The left handle is unfortunately broken and is in urge of repair.

Above the shelves are decorative pidgeon holes for further storage. The section in the middle can be removed to reveal a secret compartment!

The top of the wardrobe is set back to allow for baskets to be stored safely without sliding off.

Hand painted initials above the mirrored doors add the finishing touch to this unique piece of furniture.

The material is padouk wood.

This wardrobe is very heavy and requires two very strong people to carry it down one flight of stairs into your van. Please consider this when arranging for collection.

I can unscrew the mirrored doors beforehand but if you rather do it, let me know.
