French Antique Lit Bateau Double Bed Frame 1700s & Bespoke Cooltouch MattressThis beautiful antique 1700s 'Lit Bateau' (Boat Bed) from France is designed to fit sideways against a wall or in an alcove. It has gorgeous original wooden wheels (see pictures) allowing it to be moved towards and away from the wall. The outwards facing side is beautifully ornate, and the side intended to face the wall is plain so that it fits flush against the wall. The bed comes apart into flat pieces and can be screwed together again. Please see photos. It comes with bespoke-made base boxes and a Cooltouch memory foam mattress (very comfortable). These are in perfect condition and have always been used with a  thick mattress protector, please see photos. I have given them a light steam to make sure they are completely fresh and sanitary.One of the slats is missing, please see pictures. I have used a board which is cut to size, which sits on top of the slats and below the mattress base boxes. I am happy to include this.The size of the mattress is 115cm x 185cm, which is slightly different from a contemporary Small Double.I have documented imperfections in the photos. There is a small amount of historic wood-worm damage on the wall-facing part, this has been treated in the past and there is no woodworm now. There are some chips to the veneer in places (please see photos) and a few imperfections to the finish (also in photos). Some of the decorative pieces have become detached, most I still have.
