This includes an important collection of Early Archaic Chinese jades, hardstones, and bronzes from a prominent Hong Kong family’s collection. This collection was brought to Canada c1950 when the family immigrated. We are very experienced with such works having studied and handled several thousand of such objects spanning over several decades. We are greatly impressed by the fine quality and extreme rarity of many examples that are being offered from this collection. This is one of a few lots that include an interesting variety of antique jade and Dzi agate beads from this great estate collection being offered. We do not know a great deal about such beads ourselves but we are very confident being from this important collection the beads are antique and likely several hundred years old. As seen in the images, the beads also show legitimate early age throughout. This lot has some very unique examples including two flat carved banded agate examples, a pure white agate or jade bead, and a dzi agate bead that has a unique design. We are told the two flat carved beads with central round banded areas may be intended to represent the Buddha’s eye. The beads in this lot are of a larger size than usually found size.When the bead holes are closely inspected you can see the holes are hand carved from both sides with conjoining central joins that vary in alignment, as should be found on authentic earlier bead examples. We are told such beads are extremely collectable and that some have sold for astonishing amounts in recent years. It is well worth taking some time to figure out the value of these seven fine examples that are being offered Without Reserve!Condition:Estate-fresh, imperfections consistent with early age as seen in images. Overall substantially fine and intact. Images are part of the condition report. UV light reveals no hidden damage.Size: The two flat round beads measure 1 1/2 and 1 5/8 inches wide, and weigh 23.7, and 27.3 grams. The white bead measures 1 7/8 inches long x 3/4s of an inch wide, and weighs28.9 grams. The Dzi bead measures 1 3/4 inches long x 1/2 inches wide, and weighs 14.1 grams.
