Possibly 18th Century Antique Gilt Wood Long Footsool Hand Carved Feet & Tapestry (125cm).

This really is one of the most exquisite low footstools I have seen. I’ve put 19th Century but it may even be 18th Century. It’s stuffed with Horse Hair which is undoubtedly the most opulent filling. The tapestry on the top could be removed and the piece reupholstered but this is of the finest quality so you may wish to keep it as is.

The gilt does have quite a lot of bits missing, as pictured, but this doesn’t detract from the piece and if anything adds to the character. Alternatively it could be touched up.

It’s very solid and despite its age could be used for exactly what it was made for all those years ago or just a feature.

The horse hair filling has dropped underneath, but it could easily be re-fixed, or as above reupholstered.

I can confidently say this will be a magnificent addition to any room and a great investment for the future.
