Solid mahogany with a "broken pediment" style bonnet and carved flame finial. The drawers are made with mahogany fronts and maple sides and back, and are dovetailed on all four corners. The primary drawers are fitted with working locks, and the piece comes with the two original keys. Two center drawers are hand-carved with a fan motif. Set on cabriole legs. Sold via Baker Knapp & Tubbs at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. High end piece.In immaculate vintage condition. Structurally without issue. Excellent overall, with no repairs. cracks or finish wear. The drawers slide smoothly. The outside curved edge of the front left foot has been touched up - it looks as if the vacuum cleaner met this spot often. The other feet show only very minor wear, if any. Near-mint, especially given its age. Measurements: 80.5" tall to the top of the finial, 77" tall to the top of the bonnet. 36" wide at the cornice, the upper case is 33.5" wide. The base is 35.5" wide, and the legs are 37" wide at the knees. The cornice is 20.5" deep, the upper case is 19.25" deep and the base is 20" deep.
