Antique Afghan Or Indian Low Chair

Early 19th Century Antique Low Chair from Afghanistan or India or Pakistan.

I have been reliably informed that this charming low chair was almost definitely made in Afghanistan or possibly India or Pakistan. It can be taken almost completely apart. This was so that it could be carried from place to place by its nomadic owners. Originally, it would have had webbing stretched across the seat and tassels hanging from the little hooks. It is a beautiful thing and full of character. I have had it since 1992. It hasn’t been used in that time, just kept as a decorative object.

It has plenty of age related wear that you’d expect of something so old. But a deep patina in many places too. One spindle top is broken and 4 or 5 of the little hooks are missing. In some areas the paint has flaked off. I think some sensitive restoration would help with this. It is currently in original un-restored condition.
