Antique Single Four Poster Bed. Carved wood details & Inbuilt Mattress. I have had this beautiful bed for nearly 60years , when it was bought for my birthday by my parents from an antique shop so it has to be over 100years old. I have listed it as Mahogany but have included numerous pictures of the wood in case those will better knowledge than myself feels it to be oak. In picture 4 you may notice a small chip to the wood on the canopy , also one of the wooden curtain runners is broken but still holds well enough to be used. The bed is on small castors for movement and the mattress is built in to form the base unit .To make the bed I used a shallow top mattress so that sheets could be tucked under (not included). For transportation the bed disassembles into sections. This is a lovely bed that made me feel like a princess , but as a pensioner now, plus we need to downside in order to move house it is no longer feasible to keep it for 'old times 'sake.
