Antique Regency style four post double bed frame. The bed frame will require cleaning and restoration. There are signs of old woodworm on the side bars, but the whole frame has been thoroughly treated with 5 Star a few years ago.The bed frame is heavy, solid and made from mahogany. From the hand carving, chisel marks and the bolts securing the bed base frame I would assume this is authentic regency.The bed belonged to my grandparents and had been in their house since the 1930s.The headboard is not original and looks to be made from oak panelling.Originally the bed base frame would have supported a sprung bed base. New slats will need to be fitted to support a modern mattress, an easy job.
