This movement is probably mid nineteenth century, although I am no expert. It is called a birdcage movement, and is in good working order, although a bit dusty as it has been on the shelf of a clock repairers workshop for a few months. The dial is brass with silvered chapter ring and is engraved at the bottom with the makers name, Edmond Hartshorne, Highgate. the movement was mounted on a stand and the pendulum and weight attached. The clock ran well and struck the hours as it should. I would prefer collection, or I could deliver for the cost of my fuel. I have quoted the cost of a courier service if collection/delivery is not an option, but I hate the thought of them playing football with a fairly valuable antique. I would add that the seat board in the photograph belongs to another clock and is not included in the sale, but the pendulum and weight are. The dial is 10 and 7/8 inches or 276 mm square.
