Arch dial painted with the British Empire and a moving/ Bobbing Gallion at sea with sailing crew in the water and Castle .The Corners to the dial “ four corners of the British Empire “ exquisitely painted ! The clock has a Rare raised Convex Dish Dial.....most unusual the first I have seen that is raised !
The case is of Oak and Mahogany with Box or Fruit wood inlay , matching columns to the hood and the inlaid door case . The base has an inland roundel . The condition is very good the brass eight day movement has been well maintained and has renewed cat gut . The pendulum is highly unusual that it is gilded and painted! The condition of the case is extremely good.. great patina and colour . The base has had some impressive and expert restoration commensurate with most clocks of this age ! There is a small area below the hood where the veneer has lifted and split but this could be restored quite easily ! A very Handsome ,well loved and very well looked after clock been in a respectable family home for a long time .
