Antique French Demi Corbeille double bed frame with base Dusky Pink Velvet

OLD FRENCH UPHOLSTERED DOUBLE DEMI-CORBEILLE LOUIS XV BED IN DUSKY PINK

This original old French Louis XV double demi-corbeille bed is in its 'as found' condition; I imported it from France 10 years ago. The frame has a rich patina and has carved flowers to the shaped headboard and a curved foot end. The dusky pink velvet style fabric is in very good condition, there is a slight mark to the inside left hand edge of the footboard as shown.The frame is in strong and sturdy condition with just very minor knocks and bumps to the paintwork. I have had a wooden bed base made to fit within the original frame and to take a standard UK double mattress size. The base has been painted in a light grey and slots on top of the end of the frame. Bed slats are included. When a mattress is added, there will be a small gap between the end of the mattress and the footboard, as shown. This isn't noticeable when a duvet is on top and allows a space to tuck the end of the duvet. The whole bed and base completely dismantles.
