Hi,i have for sale a good quality Kienzle Uhren Westminster chime grandaughter clock that i am selling for restoration.This clock dates to around 1900 and has a mahogany case that has a arched top with carved frieze and reeded side columns.The dial plate is brass plate with cast brass spoandrels and a silvered convex chapter ring.The inner dial is matted and has steel filigree hands.The movement has thick brass plates and lantern ring cogs.The movement strikes a pleasant Westminster chime every quarter of the hour untill the full tune is heard on the hour.This then strikes the number of hours on a single chime bar.There is a brass knob on the left hand side of the case which silences the chimes when you pull it out.I have taken the movement out for a clean and re oil as a matter of course.I have re bushed the escapement pinion and two pinions on the chime train.The going train is very lively and runs well,the chiming train runs ok for two days but then can go out of sequence on the quarter strike patterns and then it falls silent after around three days where you have to wind the chimes fully again.(these movements don't have a what is known as strike arrests which means that these don't automatically correct the quarter strikes back on track if they go out of sequence)The rear manufacturers paper panel shows you how to bring the sequence back.The case is complete and in fair condition but there are some old dead worm holes on the top and various chips,marks and scuffs from age.Please take a look at the pictures to see the general condition.
